Mr. Douglas is thrilled to have the privilege of working with the amazing Boulder Creek High School Choirs for twelve incredible years. Before teaching at Boulder Creek, he taught at Gavilan Peak Elementary for one year. He earned his education degree at Ottawa University and his performing degree at California State University, Northridge. Along with singing in numerous choirs, he has also worked as a professional soloist/actor throughout North America and Europe. Recently he was selected to receive the OM Hartsell “Excellence in Teaching Music” award through the AMEA (Arizona Music Educators Association) and was recognized as the 2017 Deer Valley Teacher of the Year.

In 2012, Mr. Douglas had the opportunity to work in Italy singing opera and working as the assistant to the music director with the Lorenzo Malfatti Academia Vocale di Lucca. In addition to loving his job as a teacher and performer, he has also dedicated his time serving on the Arizona Choral Educators Board. This year he is the Acting President. His most proud accomplishment was conducting and performing on the stage at Carnegie Hall. Kirk Douglas is most thankful for his students throughout the years and the lessons they have taught him.
